Culture and Wellbeing: Men's Health

Guide to support events in the Library, College and the wider environment.
About Men's Health
In 1994 men lived an average of 7 years less than women.
There have been significant advances since, in medical technology, research and awareness.
In the past five years however the death rate from prostate cancer had grown to almost double the death rate from breast cancer.
There is a need for men to become far more aware of how essential it is to detection conditions such as blood pressure, cholesterol, and cancer earlier.
Six key areas have been identified as being most significant to the health of men today :
Cardiovascular disease
Prostate Health
Mental Health
Diabetes
Cancer
Sexual and reproductive health
