Reading Zone: Reading

According to the Reading Agency , "Reading needs to be an everyday part of our lives".
Reading for pleasure is not only important for our heath and wellbeing but also has social benefits.
"Reading increases our understanding of our own identity, improves empathy and gives us an insight into the world view of others".
And with the current state of the world, it has never been as important to be able to escape for a few moments.
Reading for pleasure can also help improve your English language skills, increase your vocabulary and could help improve your grades for your academic subjects.
Books, whether read or listened to, are a great aid in developing and maintaining your health and wellbeing.
Taking a break to read is an excellent way to broaden your mind and is also very therapeutic.
The Library has a fairly wide selection of books which can be read for pleasure in our Reading Collection.
The Quick Read titles area great starting point for students learning English as a second language.
The more that you read,
the more things you will know.
The more that you learn,
the more places you'll go.
