Fines in the Library
The Library does charge fines for the late return of items to the Library. We currently charge fines at the rate of 50p a day. We do not charge fines on weekends, bank holidays or other days the College is closed.
We do not use fines as punishment for the late return of items but to make sure all users can access to the material they need. This is because with he Library's auto-renewals sytem the only reasons an item is going be over due is if another user had requested the item or it has reached the end of its 20 renewals for standard loan items or 3 renewals for a a term loan.
The Library will try to let you know if you need to return your items by email to your college account . These emails are a courtesey and we can not guarantee receipt of emails and if you do not receive them it is not a valid excuse for late return of items.
You can also use the Library catalogue to check when your items are due back, find out how here
