Using the Library: Borrowing items

A few basics to help new and existing Library users at Bradford College.

Borrowing items

You can borrow most of the the Items in the library collection as a Two Week Loan, items in the Reading Collection or Teacher Training Collection are Term Loans. If an item is marked Reference it can't be borrowed and must be used in the Library.
If you want to borrow any items, you can do so by using one of our self-service kiosks.
After you have borrowed an item, as long as no one requests it, an item will automatically renew a week before the due date. A Two Week Loan for another two weeks and and Term Loan to the end of the next term.
If someone requests an item you have then it will not renew and you will need to bring it back by the due date.
Two Week Loans will renew up to a total of 25 times, Term Loans will renew up to a total of three times.
If you do not return the items by their due date you will be charged a fine for every day the item is late.
You can borrow up to 12 books from our collection, this can include textbooks, reading collection items, or DVDs.
It is really important that you keep an eye on your library record so that you know if an item has been renewed or requested.
We also email your College email address with details of any items issued, returned or requested, so keep checking this.
