The first thing to do when you start a new subject is:
Get an overview / summary of the topic. Check your reading list and find one textbook in the library. For a guide to finding textbooks on your subject, click on the Subject Guides tab.
Identify the key issues, legislation and cases. Log on to Westlaw and view the list of Topics. This is a legal encyclopedia: navigate to your topic to find an overview, key cases and legislation.
