Activities: Living Library Event

Some of the activities being run by the library that you can get involved with.
City of Culture BD2025 Living Library event
 
We are pleased to announce our Living Library event to celebrate the City of Culture 2025.
 
The theme will be: "What libraries mean to me"
 
The Living Library is like a real library, but instead of borrowing books, you interact with a person. These “Living Books” share personal stories about their lives and experiences. As a "reader" you get to have an open, respectful conversations with them, asking questions about their stories, and learn from their point of view. It’s a chance to break down barriers, challenge assumptions, and understand others better. Whatever someone's history their story may help you to see the world differently. It’s all about listening, learning, and growing through real human connection.
 
Many of the city's libraries will be taking part, each hosting their own events during November 2025:

Living Library books are people from our community in Bradford who will share a personal experience or perspective on what libraries mean to them. Borrow a living book in a safe space and take the opportunity to have a conversation and learn more about their experience.
