Find how the College Library can help you during your time at College

The Library has nearly seventy thousand books covering every subject taught at College and more besides.

You are able to borrow most of these using our self service kiosks.

There is an online library catalogue you can use to find all of our books and e-books.

You can use our use out Request and Collect service so the books will be ready for you when you come to Library.

The best way to find books is to use the Library Catalogue. This is  an online search engine and  can be found here findbooks.bradfordcollege.ac.uk.

You can it to search for a book by its title, author or what its about, it will tell you if we have a book, whether its available to borrow and where to find it.

You will have an account on the catalogue that will tell you what you have out and when its due back, as well as look through your previous use of the Library.

You can use it to request an item so it will ready and waiting for you at the Library.

If you want a book from the the Library you can use our Request and Collect service on any books you can borrow, using the catalaogue, findbooks.bradfordcollege.ac.uk.

If a book is on the shelf a member of Library staff will collect it for you, or if its on loan we will hold it for you after it has been returned. We will then email you to let you know the book is ready for you to collect.

Most books in the Library Collection can be borrowed for two weeks, if they are in the the Reading Zone or part of the Teaching Collection they can be borrowed to the end of the current term.

You can borrow up to fifteen items at any time.

To borrow items you can use one of our self-service kiosks, which you will log in using your College number and PIN, this will be the year you were born, e.g. 2004.

If you want to keep books for longer than the two weeks, the Library use automatic renewals. This means a week before an item's return date it will be automatically renewed for another two weeks from that date unless it has already renewed twenty five times or if someone else has requested it.

The best way to return books is to to use the self-service machines
These can be found in the David Hockney building and Trinity Green campus libraries.
We would prefer you to return the books to the Library you borrowed them from, but you can return them to either Library.

We will send you emails to your College account when it is time to return your items or you can also log into your account on the College catalogue by using your College number and PIN.
