The College is rolling out Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all students from Thursday 19th June. This means that every time you log in with your college account, you'll need to confirm it’s really you, just a little extra security to keep your stuff safe, even if someone gets your password.
This affects more than just your email and Teams, it includes all your library resources too, like e-books, online journals, and Discover Search.
So, what is MFA?
It's super simple! After you type in your password, you have to enter a code from your phone (via an app or message) to prove it's really you logging in.
What do you need to do?
We recommend an Authenticator app such as the Microsoft one which is free and really easy to use.
Once you've got the app installed just head to https://aka.ms/mfasetup on a computer to finish getting it set up. If you prefer txt or WhatsApp? then that works too!
Need More help?
Don't panic, we've got you covered with a step-by-step guide from our IT department is available right here.
The Library uses single sign on for most of our resources, so in most cases if you are already logged into your College account.
