The Vogue Archive is a complete searchable archive of Vogue magazine (US edition), from the very first issue published in 1892 to the latest edition. Where possible every issue from volume 1, issue 1 has been digitised and reproduced in high-resolution. More than 400,000 pages are included, constituting a treasure trove of the work from the greatest designers, photographers, stylists, and illustrators of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, however due to the rarity of some of the original print volumes there may be a few gaps in the archive.
In addition to the editorial content, all covers, advertisements and pictorial features have been captured as separate documents to allow for searching and discovery. For advertisements, the featured company and brand names have been assigned to the document records, and all image captions are captured to a high accuracy, allowing accurate retrieval of photographs and illustrations.
Over the years Vogue has covered subject areas such as Textiles and dress, Fashion history, Popular culture, Gender studies, Photography and graphic design, and Marketing and advertising.
