Did you know that the library has a collection of Dual Language children's fiction?
The library holds a small but growing collection of dual language fiction in a variety of languages and scripts. Dual language children's books are a great way for parents to teach their children to read in English alongside learning to read in their first language. Children will see and hear similarities and differences between both languages, and build their vocabulary, reading and listening skills. The books can also improve English Language learners to improve their spoken English as they read aloud to their children. Some of the stories are classic British children's books translated into other languages while other books may be familiar from childhoods in different countries and continents. Search the Library Catalogue for JDL (standing for Junior Dual Language) or by language.
