How to use the Library Catalogue to find items and check your account

Requesting an item

To request any borrowable item in the Library, first you need to find  it on the Catalogue

(see Standard Searching or Advanced Searching Tabs)

Once you have found the book you want, click on .

You will now need to log in using your College number and Library PIN
Your PIN  should be the year you were born, if this doesn't work please contact a Library desk or use the chat facility during our staffed hours.

You will now be shown a Confirmation screen.

Use the Show More Options link to add  further details such as if you won't need the requested item after a certain date or to use the Reservation notes box to tell the Library anything you think they should know.

Once you are ready click   Confirm request   and the reservation will be confirmed by taking you to the Requests tab in the Your Summary section of your account.

If you request  an item that is in stock it will be searched for regularly during the day by Library staff.

If you request an item that is out on loan, it will not be renewed until a copy is returned and then put aside for you when bought back.

When a requested item is ready for you to collect, the Library will  send an email to your College email address asking you to come and collect the item from either the Library Information Desk on the ground floor of the David Hockney building or the Trinity Green Library in the Success Centre.

It is possible to request more than one item at a time using a Folder on the catalogue.
