Library off-campus: Getting Started

What help the Library can offer you whilst you can't get into the Library

This guide is to help you find library resources while the college is closed.

Many of the library resources are available online so you can keep on studying and researching now you can't get to the Library.

Below are links and information to finding online books, journal articles, and other material.

If you need help whilst the college is closed due to the Coronovirus, you can contact the Librarian help service on askalibrarian@bradfordcollege.ac.uk

Online Books and Journals

DISCOVER Search

DISCOVER Search is our online search tool and is a quick and easy way to search all the College Library’s resources, print and electronic, and find full text information.  So even if you can't get to the Library, you can find e-books and online magazine and journal articles.

DISCOVER is a bit like using Google but the results are higher quality and more relevant to your course at Bradford College. If you are looking for information for an assignment DISCOVER is a great place to start.

Off campus you will be asked to enter your College username and password.

*There are some resources that are not yet searchable on DISCOVER. Law students should continue to use Lexis, Lawtel and Westlaw.

Library E-Books

Library e-books

Use the Library Catalogue to find online books.  Search for your keywords or the book title, and then narrow your results to just the online ones by clicking on Item Types and then on E-Books.

For more information on e-books follow this link.

Loans and Fines

Loans and Fines

Whilst the College is closed any item that was expected to be returned after 1st March is now expected back on the 12th June.

Bradford College Library does not charge fines on days when the college is closed. This includes bank holidays and weekends.  As the college has closed due to the Coronavirus, we will not be charging fines on any of your books currently overdue.
