Access to HE Nursing and Midwifery: Books

This the Access to Nursing and Midwifery Library Guide. Here you can find help on finding and using the resources the Library provides.

The Library has a large number of books to help you with your course.

You can see a selection of books for the Units for Access to HE - Nursing and Midwifery below.  Find out the availability of the book by clicking on jacket cover.

To find a particular book you can use the Library Catalogue.

The Library also provides access to e-books. Find out more by clicking on the E-books tab.

You can borrow up to to twenty items from the Library using one of the self-service machines.

Click here for a guide on using the self-service machines.

All items apart from those marked Reference can be borrowed for two weeks.

After a week the item will automatically renew for another two weeks unless someone has reserved the item or the items have been renewed 20 times.

If your books aren't renewed an email will be sent to your College email account informing you that you need to return the book. You can access your College email here. (This will also give you access to Office 365)

You can also access your Library Account to see when your items are due back. Click here to access your Library Account.

Search by author, title or a subject keyword. Any matching results will be displayed.

You can then find out the following information:

  • where the book is - the shelf mark;
  • how long the book can be borrowed for;
  • and whether a book is on the shelf or out on loan.

If all copies of a textbook are on loan you can place a reservation, or there may be a copy available online as an e-book.
